I had the idea of creating this app because I frequently traveled in Lisbon's public transports and needed a good app to manage and track the transports I used.

The ideia
Daily commuting in Lisbon involved managing transfers and estimating distances between specific stops, which general-purpose apps addressed with overly complex solutions. I needed a simple tool to store favorite routes, calculate trip distances, and manage station data offline.
The Solution
This project was a deep dive into Xamarin.Android to master mobile development concepts. I built a native application featuring:
- CRUD operations to build custom routes, edit transport details, and tag favorites.
- Integrated GPS auto-location validation and algorithms to calculate straight-line distances between transport points.
- Leveraged Android Fragments for complex navigation and
CardViewsfor a polished experience.
Conclusion
Successfully published to the Google Play Store. This proejct acted as a pivotal learning experience that helped me secure my role as a Mobile Developer at Tecmic.
